So I think I’ve figured out what Hannibal was drawing in “Trou Normand”.
I’ve turned the picture on its side and sharpened the detail a little more than I already had, and I believe that there is a stone wall to the right of the tree (way left)…. and that obscure structure on the right side of the drawing… is the base of the Eiffel Tower.
If you can just imagine the other legs of the Tower and extend it upwards, I’m pretty sure it’s a ground-level drawing of a memory he had from being in Paris.
Anyway, Hannibal, you are an amazing artist. And cook. And psychiatrist. And serial killer. And everything else. 

Oh my god yes I knew I saw trees! Before I even read your analogy I immediately thought Eiffel Tower from your sharpened images! Wow, thank you so much :D
